Adam Savage Examines The Awesome Detail of The Mother Ship Model From CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND

Tested has released another great video that features Adam Savage examining the original Mother Ship model from Steven Spielberg’s classic sci-fi film, Close Encounters of the Third Kind. He actually points out some pretty interesting stuff that I didn’t know about regarding the ship! The insanely detailed model has some fun hidden details, including an R2-D2, a mailbox, and more.

While Adam Savage was visiting the National Air and Space Museum's Udvar-Hazy Center, this familiar object caught his eye. Made by many of his old friends at Industrial Light and Magic, the Mother Ship from Close Encounters hosts a number of in-jokes, including an R2-D2 and a U.S. mailbox. See why Adam calls this model one of the "masterpieces of practical special effects."

I love this kind of stuff and if you do too, you’re gonna enjoy this video!
