Adam Savage Says STAR TREK Is Too Optimistic To Be Better Than STAR WARS
There have been many arguments made towards which franchise is better, but former Mythbusters star Adam Savage changed the game at SDCC with a new twist on the classic Star Trek vs. Star Wars debate. In his opinion, Star Trek is too optimistic and lacks realism where Star Wars offers more tragedy in it's place. Check out his full quote (via io9) below:
Star Trek lures you into a false sense of positivity that the world can be a utopia and recent events have proven it cannot. Star Wars’ dystopic vision is far more realistic and prepares our children for their future.
Definitely some politics thrown in there, but looking beyond that, he does have a point. Regardless of the side you're on, it's hard to imagine the human race of all people serving as logical peace keepers around the galaxy. It's a great notion, but the fact that a ship full of people can ship off for five years without everyone killing each other is no small feat. What's your take? Do you think Savage has a point, or is he just being a little dramatic?
