ADDAMS FAMILY Getting Animated Big Screen Adaptation

Movie Animated by Joey Paur

The animated big screen adaptation of the classic TV series The Addams Family is finally moving forward. The movie is set up at MGM, and it will be based on the cartoons created by Charles Addams.

This film project was actually being developed back in 2010 at Illumination with Tim Burton attached to direct it with stop-motion animation. Apparently, it fell apart over the last couple of years.

The last we heard the movie would new incarnation of The Addams Family that will be more inspired by the original comic source material from Addams than the previous adaptations, and there's a chance it will be in black and white, which I think would be cool. This film will in no way be related to the 1960s TV series or the Barry Sonnenfeld directed movies from the '90s. The project will stand on its own.

There's no word on who will take on the directing duties for the film yet, but we'll find out soon enough, so stay tuned! Via: Variety
