Adria Arjona Unleashes Hell on Killer Super Soldiers in A24’s Wild ONSLAUGHT Trailer
A24 has dropped the first trailer for Onslaught, and if you’ve been craving an original sci-fi action movie packed with chaos, gunfire, and genetically engineered killing machines, this one looks like it’s ready to deliver.
The film marks a long-awaited reunion between director Adam Wingard and writer Simon Barrett, the creative duo who teamed up on the cult favorite The Guest back in 2014.
Twelve years later, they’re back with another high-concept genre thriller that appears to channel a similar energy while cranking everything up to an even more insane level.
The concept has been described as “Sarah Connor versus Jason Voorhees,” and after watching the trailer, that comparison makes a lot of sense.
The story follows a tough Army sniper played by Adria Arjona, who finds herself fighting for her family’s survival after a rogue squad of genetically engineered super soldiers escapes from a secret military facility and tears through the desert. At the center of the chaos is a mother determined to keep her daughter safe no matter the cost.
Arjona, who continues to build momentum following her breakout success in Hit Man, looks completely at home as the film’s action hero. The trailer showcases her sniping enemies, unloading heavy weapons, and taking on what appear to be nearly unstoppable superhuman threats.
It’s intense, violent, and exactly the kind of over-the-top action horror concept that Wingard and Barrett thrive on.
The cast is includes Dan Stevens, reuniting with Wingard and Barrett after The Guest. The film also stars Rebecca Hall, Eric Wareheim, Reginald VelJohnson, Michael Biehn, Alex Pereira, and Drew Starkey.
Wingard’s directing credits include A Horrible Way to Die, You’re Next, The Guest, Blair Witch, Death Note, Godzilla vs. Kong, and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. Barrett penned the screenplay from a story he developed alongside Wingard.
Based on this first look, Onslaught appears to be exactly the kind of gonzo action-horror spectacle its premise promises. Killer super soldiers, a relentless sniper mom, desert carnage, and plenty of attitude. It looks like a seriously fun ride and a fresh original genre movie worth keeping an eye on.
A24 will release Onslaught in theaters on September 4, 2026.
