Adria Arjona Would Love to Return to STAR WARS as Bix Caleen
Adria Arjona dosen’t want be finished with Star Wars. The ending of Andor gave Bix Caleen an interesting future. While Cassian Andor’s fate was already sealed by the events of Rogue One, the series revealed that Bix had given birth to his child. Cassian may never know it, but a piece of him survives beyond his sacrifice.
That also leaves Bix and her child somewhere out there in the galaxy, and Arjona would absolutely consider returning to the role.
“You never know!” Arjona told ScreenRant. “If I’m 75 years old, and they’re like, ‘Do you want to be in a Star Wars show?’ I’d be like, ‘Hell yeah, I don’t care! How much? They’re not really calling me, so I’ll do it.’ But I do want to respect Tony’s version of the ending for my character.”
Gilroy and Arjona developed Bix together across Andor, and while Gilroy has indicated that he’s unlikely to return to Star Wars, Arjona wouldn’t want someone to bring Bix back simply because the character is available.
“There’s a duality to this because I want to respect Tony’s ending to the show,” she said. “But I also love this character so much that I would never say never. Well, I don’t know what I would say.
“It would have to be someone great behind it. Because it’s Tony, and because I got to create this character with him, I would like to pay that respect. So, it would have to be about who is involved.”
Bix went through hell over the course of Andor, and the finale gave her story an emotional conclusion that worked. Bringing her back would need a worthwhile reason, especially after everything Gilroy and Arjona put into the character.
Still, Star Wars has already shown us how a story like this could continue years later. When Star Wars Rebels ended, fans learned that Kanan Jarrus and Hera Syndulla had a son, Jacen Syndulla. Kanan died before his son was born, but Hera and Jacen eventually returned to the franchise in Ahsoka.
Cassian, Bix, and their child now have a similar opening. There’s no indication that Lucasfilm currently has plans to continue Bix’s story, but the character and Cassian’s child are sitting right there if a future filmmaker decides there’s a compelling story worth telling.
After everything Andor put Bix through, I’d certainly be interested in seeing what became of her and Cassian’s kid. Just give them a story worthy of the characters.
