Adria Arjona’s Intense MAN OF TOMORROW Training Has Fans Convinced She’s Wonder Woman
What exactly is Adria Arjona getting ready for in the DCU? Because after seeing her latest training video, fans just want DC Studios finally admit that she’s playing Wonder Woman.
Adria Arjona has a role in James Gunn’s Man of Tomorrow, and DC Studios appears happy to keep everyone guessing. It’s a similar tactic to the secrecy surrounding Sadie Sink and her role as Jean Grey, with Arjona’s character being kept under wraps while speculation continues to grow.
The two names that keep coming up are Maxima and Wonder Woman. When she was initially cast, it was said she was playing Maxima, which would certainly fit into Gunn’s growing DC Universe, but rumors persist thatb she is really playing Diana Prince, and that possibility that has fans much more excited.
Now, a new look at Arjona’s physical preparation for Man of Tomorrow has kicked the Wonder Woman theories into high gear.
The Andor star recently shared more about the intense training she’s doing specifically for her role in Gunn’s upcoming Superman sequel. Whatever character she’s playing, Arjona clearly sounds thrilled about getting the opportunity to bring her to life.
"The excitement of playing the woman that I’m playing gives me everything I need to wake up. Physically it’s exhausting, but it’s all for the greater good."
Naturally, DC fans heard that and immediately were like, “She’s playing Wonder Woman!” Because why would she be so excited about anyone else?
The reaction on social media has essentially become: “She ain’t doin’ all that for Maxima!”
Maxima has long been mentioned as a possibility for Arjona’s mystery character, and she’s exactly the type of less obvious DC Comics character Gunn enjoys pulling into the spotlight.
If Arjona does turn out to be Brainiac’s right-hand woman rather than Wonder Woman, though, there are going to be plenty of disappointed Diana Prince fans.
Arjona hasn’t exactly done much to kill the Wonder Woman rumors, either. During a recent Onslaught Q&A, a fan called her “Wonder Woman.” Instead of correcting them or shutting down the speculation, and responded: "Thank you, guys, so much for coming!"
If Arjona really is playing Wonder Woman, she would become the new DCU incarnation of Diana Prince following Gal Gadot, who previously played the Amazon warrior in Justice League and the previous DC movie universe.
For now, however, Arjona’s character remains officially unconfirmed. James Gunn and DC Studios clearly aren’t ready to reveal who she’s playing.
Personally, Arjona would make a pretty awesome Wonder Woman, and the amount of physical work she’s putting into Man of Tomorrow certainly makes the theory fun to consider.
Man of Tomorrow arrives in theaters on July 9, 2027.
