Adventurous Full Trailer for Taika Waititi's THE HUNT FOR THE WILDERPEOPLE

My favorite film that I saw at Sundance this year was Taika Waititi's The Hunt For the Wilderpeople. The movie was full of great comedy, exciting adventure, and some good dramatic storytelling. We have a trailer for you to watch for the film for today, but unfortunately, it doesn't do a good job of showing how amazing this movie actually is. I was kind of bummed out after I watched it because it undersells the film. I guess one positive thing I can say about the trailer is that it doesn't include the best parts of the movie. You can read my review for the movie here in case you missed it.

The movie stars Sam Neill and Julian Dennison as the main characters, and it is based on Barry Crump’s book Wild Pork and Watercress. The book was adapted for the big screen by Waititi, and here's the synopsis:

Raised on hip-hop and foster care, defiant city kid Ricky gets a fresh start in the New Zealand countryside. He quickly finds himself at home with his new foster family: the loving Aunt Bella, the cantankerous Uncle Hec, and dog Tupac. When a tragedy strikes that threatens to ship Ricky to another home, both he and Hec go on the run in the bush. As a national manhunt ensues, the newly branded outlaws must face their options: go out in a blaze of glory or overcome their differences and survive as a family.

Waititi's most recent film prior to this was What We Do In Shadows, and he's currently developing Thor: Ragnarok for Marvel. After watching Hunt for the Wilderpeople, I have no doubt that Thor: Ragnarok is going to an incredible film.
