After HELLMOUTH Concludes, Things Will Be Different in the Buffyverse

Looks like some crap has happened in the Buffy and Angel comics with Hellmouth. Now, fans will get to see the fallout of the event with a “new era” being dubbed “Ring of Fire.” This new era will start with Angel & Spike #9. That’s right, some things are changing, including the name of the comic. Don’t worry though, as Bryan Edward Hill is still serving as writer, Gleb Melnikov as artist, and Joss Whedon as a story consultant.

But as Gunn, Fred, Lorne and Lilith fight back against the evil that’s infected their city, they can’t do without the help of their vampire leader...Spike! As TEAM SPIKE faces down the new threat of legal firm Wolfram & Hart, there’s one question on everyone’s minds: What happened to Angel?

Each new issue of Angel & Spike as well as Buffy the Vampire Slayer will feature clues “leading to an unprecedented revelation that will leave every Buffyverse fan stunned!” Angel & Spike #9 will be available starting February 26 with the main cover from Dan Panosian and variants from Vanesa R. Del Rey, Scott Buoncristiano, and Jonas Scharf.

Jeanine Schaefer from BOOM! released the following statement:

Betrayal, heartache, and violence are what the new TEAM SPIKE have to look forward to in the post-Hellmouth landscape we’re calling RING OF FIRE. You know, all the good stuff! They think evil has landed in Los Angeles, but what they’ll find is that it’s been there all along, and the source they discover is staggering.
