After Playing Spider-Man's AI Assistant in BRAND NEW DAY, Naomi Watts Congratulates Her Co-Stars in Post With Photos
In 2012, Spider-Man actor Tom Holland got his big break in Hollywood after having starred as a stage actor in London's West End performance of Billy Elliot for two years.
He was hired on to play a boy named Lucas, son to Naomi Watts’s character Maria, in the true story disaster drama The Impossible. Holland recently spoke about the experience and the masterclass in acting he received from Watts while making that film when he was talking to Amy Poehler on her podcast, Good Hang.
Watts returned the love to her co-star, who she recently reunited with to play Peter Parker’s AI assistant, E.V., in Marvel’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
In a post on Instagram, which you can check out below, Academy Award nominee Watts posted two photos from the making of the film, one of the actress with the film’s director, Destin Daniel Cretton, on her computer, and another of Holland posing with a couple young fans on set. She accompanied the photos with the following message:
“From playing your mom to playing your AI (100% human made). Congrats Tom, Destin, and the whole Spider-Man: Brand New Day team on the historic opening weekend!! Immensely proud to even just a tiny part of this incredible film!”
