AHOY Comics Reveals Some of Its Upcoming Releases for 2020
AHOY Comics has released some of their plans for 2020 including the fourth wave of AHOY comic book magazines as well as two trade paperback collections. There will be three new comics released during the fourth wave. After reading about the upcoming releases, you can check out the covers below. First, let’s talk about the new stories.
Billionaire Island will debut in March 2020 with a team consisting of writer Mark Russell, artist Steve Pugh, colorist Chris Chuckry, and letterist Rob Steen. The main cover will be created by Pugh with a variant also available from Pia Guerra.
Next is Ash & Thorn, a 5-issue mini-series from writer Mariah McCourt and artist Soo Lee who worked with colorist Pippa Bowland and letterist Steen. In addition, Jill Thompson will be creating the covers. Ash & Thorn will make its debut in April 2020.
Third, Penultiman comes from author Tom Peyer and artist Alan Robinson. The colors are done by Lee Loughridge, letters by Steen, and covers by Robinson. This story will first appear in May 2020.
The first of the paperback collections will be Second Coming: Volume One from author Russell and artists Richard Pace and Leonard Kirk. The colors were done by Andy Troy, the cover by Pace, and letters from Steen. This will be available at comic shops on February 26, 2020, and at bookstores on March 10, 2020.
The second collection will be Dragonfly & Dragonflyman: Night & Day from author Peyer, artist Peter Krause, colorist Troy, and letterist Steen. Comic shops should have this available on May 27, 2020, and bookstores on June 9, 2020. Apparently, AHOY has timed the release of this title with the dragonfly season on the east coast which is pretty interesting to me.
