AHSOKA Footage Screened at Star Wars Celebration REBELS Characters Confirmed!

During The Mandalorian presentation at Star Wars Celebration, Dave Filoni, Jon Favreau, and Rosario Dawson had a big treat to share with the fans. They screened the very first footage from the live-action Ahsoka series, and more characters from Rebels have been confirmed! It will be interesting to see who plays Ezra and Hera in the series.

The footage reveals that Ezra Bridger, Hera, and Sabine will all appear in the series. The only casting announced out of those was actress Natasha Liu Bordizzo, who is playing Sabine. Oh yeah! The lovable droid Chopper is also in the show, and he was brought out on stage to show off to the fans!

The footage that was shown was brief, but it certainly packed a punch with the fans! There are a lot of teasing shots of characters and locations. The best shot features Dawson as Ahsoka looking stoic as she removes her hood from her head. We also see The Ghost starship, which was really cool to see brought to life!

The last shot features wall art of the characters from Rebels with a focus on Ezra. Then the real Ezra actually steps into the frame, and we only see the back of his head before it cuts to black. The fans went wild! It was the loudest of the whole event.

The panel was super tight-lipped on the series and no one would say anything about it, but showrunner Dave Filoni previously said: "Ahsoka is a continuous story. It is definitely driving toward a goal, in my mind, as opposed to being little singular adventures. That's what I want the character to be doing, and I think that's what fans want now. They have such a relationship with her. I've only recently started to understand that all those kids that watched Clone Wars are now a lot older – they're very excited about all the things they grew up with, as they should be."

The actress who plays Sabine in the film appeared on the panel at the end and said: "I feel like I've just been adopted into a new family. I feel that way about everyone I work with, but also the fans. It's just the most welcoming, creative team. I have never experienced anything like this. Set is going really well. I can't say a thing. I know how much Sabine means to a lot of people in this room. In watching Rebels, she's come to mean a hell of a lot to me and I know how much she means to Dave, so I think you guys are gonna be really excited about the journey she's about to have."

Ahsoka has wrapped its third week of production and Ahsoka talks about her experience, saying: "It's been amazing. I was so excited that Dave actually posted when we started, we started filming on my birthday May 9th. Last night was the end of our third week."

There’s lots of Star Wars stuff to get excited about, but Ahsoka is definitely at the top of my most anticipated list! The series is coming to Disney+ in 2023!
