TrekTube has released an interesting new video where real artificial intelligence takes a deep dive into Star Trek’s iconic Lt. Cmdr. Data and other legendary sci-fi AIs.

Voiced in Data’s signature tone, the AI examines how Hollywood often misrepresents artificial intelligence, whether it could actually pass The Measure of a Man test, and how today’s real neural networks stack up against the collective mind of the Borg.

The result is an engaging reflection on how far we’ve come in understanding AI, and how much our favorite sci-fi worlds still influence the way we imagine the future of artificial life.
