AI Studio Morphic Sets Bold Vision With Cyberpunk Anime DQN and $1M Creator Fund
AI production studio Morphic is stepping into the anime arena with its first original series, DQN, and alongside the announcement of the new show, the company is launching a $1 million creator fund aimed at helping emerging filmmakers bring their wildest ideas to life, whether that’s in animation, live-action, games, or comics.
The series, DQN, comes from creator Kushagra Kushwaha, an anime filmmaker originally from India who now works out of Tokyo. If you’ve watched JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean on Netflix or Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest on Crunchyroll, Amazon, or Apple, you’ve already seen his work in action.
His new series is set in a hyper-digital, cyberpunk world run by decentralized networks and AI systems. The story centers on twelve strangers, each locked in a high-stakes race to uncover the secrets of a hidden vault, one that could “rewrite the rules of power.”
“Kush is an exceptionally gifted filmmaker with an incredibly deep understanding of anime as an art form and I couldn’t be more proud to make ‘DQN’ our first anime series,” said Morphic founder Jaynti Kanani.
“Morphic is committed to putting state-of-the-art tech in the hands of the world’s most talented filmmakers and we’re excited to launch our first creator’s fund to invite even more talented storytellers onto our platform.”
That creator fund is meant to support up-and-coming voices across formats, from shorts and features to comics and games. The goal is to offer filmmakers access to AI tools that can enhance production speed and creative scale, all while keeping the vision in the hands of the artists.
Kushwaha shared his excitement about the collaboration: “I’m passionate about using cutting-edge tech to bring this form of storytelling to the widest possible global audience.
“I’m thrilled to be working with JD and the Morphic team, who are using AI to democratize this genre, accelerate its speed to market and help a new generation of artists fulfill their most ambitious creative ideas.”
Between DQN and the new fund, Morphic is clearly aiming to be more than just another AI startup. It’s staking a claim in the future of entertainment, one that blends human creativity with smart tools to help tell their stories.
