AKIRA On 4K Blu Ray And More Coming January 2022

Funimation announced that it will be releasing Akira on 4k UHD Blu-ray on January 18. Relive the story of Shotaro Kaneda and his motorcycle gang as they tear through Neo Tokyo and fight to save Kaneda’s friend Tetsuo Shima after he is caught in an accident, discovers a secret government project, and manifests psychic abilities beyond his control.

This new release comes with insightful behind the scenes special features, including an interview with director Katsuhiro Otomo, a look into the sound design and music by Geinoh Yamashirogumi, image galleries, original trailers and commercials, storyboards, and more.
