Al Pacino Joins Gus Van Sant’s Hostage Thriller DEAD MAN'S WIRE
Al Pacino has joined the joined the cast of the upcoming high-stakes thriller Dead Man’s Wire, an upcoming film directed by Gus Van Sant. This marks the first collaboration between Pacino and Van Sant, a pairing that brings interest to the project.
The film is written by Austin Kolodney, and is based on a shocking true story. Set in 1977, it follows Anthony G. “Tony” Kiritsis, a desperate man who took mortgage company president Richard O. Hall hostage.
Strapping a sawed-off shotgun to Hall’s neck with a “dead man’s wire” leading back to himself, Kiritsis made his demands clear: $5 million, immunity from prosecution, and a formal apology for what he believed was a financial betrayal. The ensuing standoff captivated the nation.
Pacino joins an already impressive ensemble cast, which includes Bill Skarsgård, Dacre Montgomery, Myha’la, Cary Elwes, and Colman Domingo.
The veteran actor is fresh off Knox Goes Away and has several films lined up, including The Ritual, Killing Castro, Hand of Dante, Billy Knight, and Easy Waltz.
