Alan Tudyk to Play Secret Role in James Gunn's SUPERMAN
It has been revealed that actor Alan Tudyk (Firefly, Resident Alien) will be playing a secret role in James Gunn’s Superman. The film has wrapped, and although Tudyk was not revealed as part of the cast previously, we can count on seeing him when the movie premieres.
Friend of Gunn and the DC universe, Tudyk already is playing the voice of nuclear plant meltdown-born villain Doctor Phosphorus in Gunn’s upcoming Max animated series, Creature Commandos, which technically kicks off the first part of the DC Boss’ Phase One, “Gods and Monsters.” Tudyk also voices Clayface in the Max animated series Harley Quinn.
As far as Gunn and Tudyk’s previous collaborations prior to Superman, Gunn starred in an episode of Tudyk’s Vimeo series Con Man which ran from 2015-17.
Gunn announced the completion of production on Superman in July. The pic follows the Man of Steel as he looks to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing. He is the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way, guided by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned.
The film also stars David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan in the roles of Clark Kent/Superman and Lois Lane, as well as Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Skyler Gisondo (Jimmy Olsen), Sara Sampaio (Eve Teschmacher), Edi Gathegi (Mister Terrific), Terence Rosemore (Otis), Anthony Carrigan (Metamorpho), Isabela Merced (Hawkgirl), Nathan Fillion (Guy Gardner), María Gabriela de Faría (The Engineer), Wendell Pierce (Daily Planet editor Perry White), Beck Bennett, and Frank Grillo (Rick Flag Sr).
Superman hits theaters on July 11th, 2025.
