Alec Baldwin Stars in HOLLYWOOD HEIST with Mickey Rourke and Tara Reid
Production recently wrapped on a new crime caper comedy film titled Hollywood Heist, and the first details on the cast of the film and the story it tells have been revealed.
This actually sounds like a really fun project. Alec Baldwin stars in the film and he’s joined by Mickey Rourke, Tara Reid, Nick Canon, Paul Sloan, and Til Schweiger. The movie is being helmed by first-time feature film director Mike Hatton, from a script he wrote with Sloan.
Hollywood Heist follows “a Hollywood power agent (Cannon) trying to land an actor (Baldwin) by telling the story of his client, a movie producer (Hatton), along with a washed-up movie star pal (Sloan), as they race against time to save their latest production. This comes after the project’s bank account is wiped clean by a thief, leading to an onslaught of negotiations with famous actors, drug lords and death.”
It’s explained that the movie is Set in a “meta” version of Hollywood, and the story is inspired by true events. Baldwin, Rourke and Reid are playing fictionalized versions of themselves. The film also features a fictional version of producer Asko Akopyan, played by Arman Nshanian.”
I enjoy movies that are set in a meta version of Hollywood, a couple of my favorites include The Player and Swimming With Sharks.
The news of this film comes after New Mexico dropped the criminal charges against Baldwin in the tragic on-set death of DP Halyna Hutchins. That film also recently resumed production.
