Alexander Skarsgärd "Wildy" Transformed His Body For The Viking Epic THE NORTHMAN

One of the films that I’m most excited about seeing this year is director Robert Eggers’ Viking epic The Northman. That first trailer that was released was awesome! Well, Eggers, who previously helmed films such as The Witch and The Lighthouse, recently talked about his historical epic, saying:

"It was intimidating and daunting. I was utterly terrified, but it’s a major privilege to be able to do something like this. It’s been exciting. The studio let me use all my head of departments from my last two films, and I was able to work with the top Viking historians in the world, which was incredible."

The Northman stars Alexander Skarsgärd as vengeance-seeking Viking prince Amleth. The movie is set at the turn of the 10th century in Iceland, and the story explores how far a Viking prince will go to get revenge for his murdered father. When talking about Skarsgärd, the director explained how the actor wildly transformed his body for the role:

"The amount of discipline that Alex put into this role is crazy. He transformed his body more wildly than he did in Tarzan.”

You can definitely see what he’s done with himself in the trailer and the photos that have been released. It’s pretty crazy to see what some actors are willing to do to their bodies for the roles that they take on in the projects that they sign up for. Skarsgärd looks insane in this movie!
