Alexandra Daddario is Set to Star in the Thriller I AM NOT A BIRD
Alexandra Daddario, who is best known for her roles in San Andreas, Baywatch, and True Detective is set to star in a dramatic thriller called I Am Not a Bird. Daddario has never really been in a movie role that shows she's got real talent. Maybe this one will be it. The film is based on the book called Lost Girls and Love Hotels, and this is the description:
I Am Not a Bird centers around a young western woman, Margaret, in the midst of losing herself in the bachanal of nighttime Tokyo. Haunted by memories of her twin brother’s descent into madness, Margaret courts danger with her fellow ex-pat misfits in dive bars and love hotels. When she falls for Kazu, a handsome Japanese gangster, she has a chance at redemption but with the threat of a killer in the city, Margaret is in a race to find herself before she’s lost completely.
The film comes from director William Olsson (Reliance) and it will be produced by Lauren Mann of Wandering Trail Pictures and Blackbird’s Lawrence Inglee. Here's what the producers had to say in a joint statement:
“The moment we finished reading Lost Girls and Love Hotels we knew we had to be involved in the film adaptation. Catherine Hanrahan’s fiery writing tempers gritty emotion into an intoxicating tale of the underground laced with edginess. We are thrilled to have William Olsson at the helm to bring this brilliant story to life and Alexandra Daddario is a perfect fit for the role of the deeply layered Margaret.”
The author of the book, Catherine Hanrahan, also wrote the screenplay for the film. Are you a fan of Alexander Daddario? Do you think this will be a good project for her to take on?
