Alfonso Cuarón to Direct New HARRY POTTER Spin-Off Film?
It looks like there's a good chance that Gravity director, Alfonso Cuarón, could return to the Harry Potter franchise and direct the new spin-off film, Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them, which is now in development at Warner Bros.,
According to Nikki Finke, Cuarón is "deep in talks" to direct the spinoff film that is currently being scripted by JK Rowling.
Cuarón is the same director that kicked the Harry Potter films into a new gear when he adapted The Prisoner of Azkaban, which is a favorite film among a lot of Harry Potter fans. I would love to see Cuarón take on this new film project because with him on board, the movie is sure to be great.
If he takes the gig, it will be the first of a trilogy. The story of which takes place a number of years before the events of the Harry Potter books and films. It is loosely based on a book that J.K. Rowling wrote for charity.
The book is a reproduction of a textbook owned by Harry Potter that was mentioned in the first Potter novel. The fictional textbook was written by a fictional magizoologist character named Newt Scamander. For those of you who aren't up to speed on the Potter universe, Magizoology is the study of magical creatures.
The movie is set to be released on November 18th, 2016. Are you excited to hear that Cuarón might direct this movie?
