As Marvel moves forward with the development of Iron Fist Season 2, they have announced that Star Trek Into Darkness actress Alice Eve is the latest addition to the cast. There's no information on who exactly she'll be playing, but I like the actress and I hope they gave her a great role! Marvel’s head of television and series executive producer Jeph Loeb had this to say in a statement:
“We are very excited to have an actress of Alice’s stature join the cast of Marvel’s Iron Fist. Her exceptional talent brings an intrigue and danger to her character unlike anyone else.”
Showrunner and Executive Producer, Raven Metzner added:
“We’re over the moon that Alice Eve is joining us this season. We think she’s going to be a great addition to an already stellar cast.”
Eve will join Finn Jones, who will be back as Danny Rand, as well as Jessica Henwick as Colleen Wing, Simone Missick as Misty Knight, Tom Pelphrey as Ward Meachum, Jessica Stroup as Joy Meachum), and Sacha Dhawan as Danny’s childhood friend Davos.
I wasn't a big fan of the first season of Iron Fist. I don't really care for how Marvel is handling this character in these Netflix shows. He could and should be a much more badass character! Hopefully, as these Netflix Marvel series continue they start to actually play with the character and do some cool things that do the comic book version justice. One thing they really need to work on is his fighting skills and the fight choreography.
Iron Fist will next be seen in Luke Cage Season 2, which will premiere in 2018 on Netflix. There's no release date set yet for Iron Fist Season 2.
