COBRA KAI Season 5 - Alicia Hannah-Kim to Play South Korean Sensei and Dallas Dupree Young Upgraded to Series Regular
We are less than four months away from what promises to be another epic season of Cobra Kai on Netflix. We have learned that in the fifth season, actress Alicia Hannah-Kim (Minx) will play the formidable South Korean sensei Kim Da-Eun who factors into Terry Silver’s (Thomas Ian Griffith) plans for accelerating Cobra Kai’s expansion. This means she must be a hardcore bad guy, to be teaming up with Silver. After last season, when he set up and ousted his old friend, John Kreese, as well as rigged the results of the All Valley Tournament, we can see he will stop at nothing to rocket the Cobra Kai dojo to the top, at any cost.
Also, Dallas Dupree Young, who joined the show last season as Kenny Payne, has been upgraded to a series regular. He was a great character who got an interesting introduction in the last season, as he was picked on by Daniel’s son, Anthony (Griffin Santopietro), and joined Cobra Kai to learn how to defend himself.
The show also stars William Zabka, Tanner Buchanan, Xolo Maridueña, Mary Mouser, Courtney Henggeler, Jacob Bertrand, Gianni DeCenzo, Peyton List, and Vanessa Rubio.
Season 5 will be pulling out all the stops, with not only Cobra Kai enlisting outside help, but Miyagi-Do’s dojo seeing Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) enlist the help of his former nemesis Chozen (Yuji Okumoto) to take down Silver and bring back civility and safety to the kids of the Valley.
I can’t freaking wait! I love Cobra Kai so much. It’s one of the best shows on TV, and I can’t wait to get back to it. Seasons 1-4 are available on Netflix, and Season 5 premieres globally on September 9th.
