Alicia Vikander Looks Badass as Lara Croft in First Poster and Teaser For TOMB RAIDER
Warner Bros. has unleashed the first poster for Tomb Raider featuring Alicia Vikander (The Danish Girl, Ex Machina) as Lara Croft, and she looks totally badass! I love that she is playing this character and I can't wait to see her in full on action. Turns out we won't have to wait long because the first trailer for the movie will be released tomorrow. While we wait, you can watch a promo teaser below!
Tomb Raider also stars Walton Goggins as Father Mathias Vogel; Daniel Wu as Lu Ren, the ship captain who helps Lara in searching for her Father; Dominic West as Lord Richard Croft, Lara's deceased archaeologist father; and Hannah John-Kamen as Sophie, Croft's flatmate and best friend.
Here's the official plot synopsis that was released:
“Seven years after the disappearance of her father, 21-year-old Lara has refused to take the reins of his global business empire, instead working as a bike courier in London while taking college classes. Eventually she becomes inspired to investigate her father’s disappearance and travels to his last-known location: a tomb on an island somewhere off the coast of Japan. Suddenly, the stakes couldn’t be higher for Lara, who—against the odds and armed with only her sharp mind, blind faith and inherently stubborn spirit—must learn to push herself beyond her limits as she journeys into the unknown. If she survives this perilous adventure, it could be the making of her, earning her the name Tomb Raider.”
The movie, which was directed by Roar Uthaug (The Wave), hits theaters March 16th, 2018.
