ALIENS: FIRETEAM ELITE 2 Trailer Reveals Bigger Squads, New Threats, and a Summer 2026 Release Window
The Xenomorphs are coming back, and this time you’ll need more firepower and more friends to survive. Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 has officially been revealed by Cold Iron Studios and Daybreak Games, and the first trailer makes it clear that the sequel is aiming to go bigger, louder, and a whole lot more chaotic.
The reveal dropped as part of IGN First’s May spotlight, giving fans their first real look at the follow-up to 2021’s cult-favorite co-op shooter, and it looks like a serious upgrade.
The trailer kicks things off with a distressing transmission from Dr. Lily Pierce, stationed on LV-558, which is shaping up to be the main battleground this time around. From there, it shifts into flashes of gameplay that tease what players can expect.
Heavy weapons light up dark corridors, new tech gadgets come into play, and waves of Xenomorphs swarm in overwhelming numbers. It’s exactly the kind of intense sci-fi action fans of the franchise want.
One of the biggest changes is the squad size. Instead of three players, teams can now roll in with four, opening up more room for strategy and coordination. That tweak alone could seriously change how missions play out, especially when things inevitably spiral into chaos.
There’s also a new class system addition called the Specialist. This lets players mix and match abilities from different classes, giving you more control over how your marine plays. Whether you want to lean into support, offense, or something unpredictable, it sounds like the game is giving players more freedom to experiment.
Crossplay is fully supported across PC and consoles, so teaming up with friends won’t be a hassle regardless of platform. At launch, players can also jump into a Horde mode featuring dedicated maps and escalating rewards, which should keep the replay value high for those who enjoy holding the line against endless alien waves.
For anyone who played the original Aliens: Fireteam Elite, this sequel builds on that foundation. The first game followed Colonial Marines aboard the USS Endeavor as they were sent to LV-895 to deal with a Xenomorph infestation.
It grew steadily after launch with updates, new content, and even a Nintendo Switch version. So far, there’s no word on whether the sequel will land on a next-gen Nintendo system, but PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S are confirmed.
The trailer may only offer quick glimpses, but it’s enough to get fans fired up. Between the expanded team size, deeper customization, and the promise of bigger battles, this sequel looks like it’s aiming to deliver a more intense Aliens experience.
