ALITA: BATTLE ANGEL Featurette Shows Off Some of James Cameron's Original Concept Art

Alita: Battle Angel was a great action-packed sci-fi movie and it’s a shame that it didn’t do better at the domestic box office. I’m sure the film will do better when it’s released on home video, but this was a movie that is so much better when seen on the big screen.

Hopefully, we get to see a sequel get made, and while we wait to see how things play out we have a new featurette to share with you today called “From Manga to Screen” and it features director Robert Rodriguez and James Cameron talking about bring this story to life.

Before Rodriguez was brought on to direct the film, Cameron started developing it 15 years ago and this video shows some of Cameron’s original concept art that inspired the film.

Concept design supervisor Dylan Cole, talks about that art that came from a pitch reel in 2005 saying that it was “kind of legendary”. When you see the art you’ll see why he said that.

Alita: Battle Angel will be released digitally on July 9th and will then be released on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray, and DVD on July 23rd.
