All Hell Breaks Loose in New Trailer for LUCIFER Season 5 and There's a Big Twist
Netflix has released the first trailer for the upcoming fifth season of Lucifer Season 5. As you’ll see, the trailer reveals a big twist involving Tom Ellis’ character. When he returns to Earth, he isn’t really… himself. You’ll see what I mean when you watch the trailer, but I won’t spoil it here for you. I’ll let you enjoy the experience of watching the trailer.
Lucifer is loosely based on the Vertigo comic and tells the story of the original fallen angel. “Bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, Lucifer Morningstar (Ellis) abandoned his throne. He then retired to Los Angeles, where he has teamed up with LAPD detective Chloe Decker to take down criminals. The show was abruptly canceled by Fox after its third season but was saved by Netflix last June.”
Season 5 will be split into two parts with Golden Globe nominee Dennis Haysbert (24, Major League) taking on the role of God. D.B. Woodside is playing the role of God’s favorite son and Lucifer’s angelic brother Amenadiel. The cast also includes Lauren German as Det. Chloe Decker, Kevin Alejandro as Det. Dan Espinoza, Lesley-Ann Brandt as Mazikeen, Scarlett Estevez as Trixie Espinoza, Rachael Harris as Dr. Linda Martin, and Aimee Garcia as Ella Lopez.
The first eight episodes of the new season will be available for streaming on Friday, August 21. Check out the trailer and let us know what you think about the direction the story is going!
