ALLIANCE INSIGHT and More YU-GI-OH! News
At the beginning of the month, Konami officially launched the latest core booster set for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game: Alliance Insight. This set brings support for a number of beloved archetypes such as Eldlich, Evil Twin, Ryzeal, Maliss, Dragon Ruler, and even the TCG exclusive Mitsurugi that’s making waves. It also brings the new Regenesis archetype although that seems to not be making any significant splash.
Konami was kind enough to send me a box of the set and you can watch me open it below. As I mention in the video, there’s nothing that I’m personally looking for, but that doesn’t mean it’s a bad set (I just play Fire Kings). There’s quite a bit for a variety of duelists to enjoy even if you’re just an anime fan with the new cards centered around Ancient Fairy Dragon and the Duel Spirits from Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds.
In addition to opening up Alliance Insight, I wanted to shed some light on some upcoming Yu-Gi-Oh! products that sound cool. First, the next 60-card deck building set is Justice Hunters releasing on August 1, 2025. This brings the new trio of strategies (dragon, waifu, machine/monster) with Dracotails (Fusion-based), K9 (XYZ-based), and Yummy (Synchro-based).
I guess time will tell if any of these will actually make waves. Typically one strategy from these sets tends to be really good out the gate, one tends to become good after a wave of support, and the third is just a bunch of hopes and dreams. Which do you think will reign supreme in the TCG?
Second, we have new card sleeves based on Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG The Chronicles: The Fallen & The Virtuous. This is artwork of The Fallen of Albaz and Dogmatika Ecclesia, the Virtuous based on the promotional short anime series that I was personally disappointed in the one episode I’ve seen. That said, I actually think the sleeves look really cool. They will be available starting October 24, 2025 for $4.99 for a pack of 50 sleeves. Once again, I am begging Konami to do these in packs of at least 55!
Finally, the most recent announcement is in regards to the upcoming Limited Pack World Championship 2025. This appears to be a brand new product for the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG. It is described as “[A]n exclusive booster set that celebrates the whole year of incredible Dueling stories and the culmination of the 2025 World Championship season.” Sounds very cool but vague.
What we do know is that the set will only be 20 cards available as both Ultra Rare and Secret Rare, they will all have the World Championship 2025 logo emblazoned on the text box, and there will be a special repainted version of Exodia the Forbidden One (not included in the 20 card pool). One thing I think is cool is that the Exodia Secret Rare will have the WCS logo in tri-color to commemorate the fact France is this year’s host country.
These packs will cost $4.99, include 4 cards, and will only be available at participating OTS and the World Championship event starting August 30.
