Allison Mack Opens Up: From SMALLVILLE Star to NXIVM Cult Member in New Podcast
After years of silence and infamy, former Smallville actress Allison Mack is finally ready to speak out about her shocking fall from Hollywood fame to life as a convicted felon. Mack, best known for playing Chloe Sullivan, Clark Kent’s best friend in Smallville, disappeared from the spotlight after becoming entangled in the NXIVM sex cult.
In 2018, the FBI arrested Mack and charged her with trafficking, sex trafficking conspiracy, and forced labor conspiracy. What followed was a wave of accusations, from money laundering to racketeering and identity fraud. Mack pleaded guilty and served two years in prison before her release in 2023.
For years, she’s stayed completely under the radar. Reports alleged that Mack played a major role in recruiting new NXIVM members, and she was even accused of attempting to bring in some of her Smallville co-stars.
But now, the 42-year-old actress is set to tell her side of the story in a new CBC podcast titled CBC Uncover: Allison After NXIVM, launching November 10.
The podcast promises to explore Mack’s journey from rising TV star to one of NXIVM’s most notorious members and the aftermath of it all. Hosted by Natalie Robehmed, the series features exclusive access to Mack and those who knew her before, during, and after her involvement with the group.
Here’s the official podcast description:
“You think you know the NXIVM story. The secretive self-help empire. The sex cult headlines. The downfall of its leader, Keith Raniere. But the most famous woman at the center of the story has remained largely silent.
In ALLISON AFTER NXIVM, host Natalie Robehmed unravels the story of Allison Mack: former Smallville actress, high-ranking NXIVM member, and convicted felon.
With exclusive access following her release from prison, this series traces her astonishing path from Smallville fame to NXIVM’s inner circle – and her effort to rebuild a life in the wreckage.
Through raw interviews and revealing conversations with those who knew her before, during, and after NXIVM, ALLISON AFTER NXIVM dives deep into the gray zones of influence, accountability, and redemption.”
The trailer for the podcast teases emotional and unsettling moments, including discussions about sexual abuse and manipulation. Listeners should be aware that the subject matter could be triggering.
While fans might hope for stories from the Smallville set, it doesn’t sound like the series will focus much on that chapter of her life.
Instead, Allison After NXIVM looks to be Mack’s attempt to confront her past and start a new chapter.
Mack reportedly married earlier this year, and while a Hollywood comeback seems unlikely, it’s possible she may reappear on the convention scene at some point.
