Allison Williams and Michelle Randolph Team Up for Sci-Fi Survival Thriller HOMEWRECKER
A new sci-fi survival thriller film project is gearing up to hit production titled Homewrecker, and it’s set to star Allison Williams (M3GAN) and Michelle Randolph ( Landman), with French filmmaker Xavier Gens directing. If you’re into tense, character-driven genre stories with a mysterious edge, this one sounds like it’s aiming right at you.
The film comes from writers Elisa Bell and Travis Gordon, and the premise wastes no time throwing its characters into chaos.
The story follows three Americans whose lives collide during an emotional personal upheaval, only to find themselves forced into survival mode when a strange global event begins tearing apart the world around them.
The official synopsis reads: “During a heart-breaking domestic revelation, three star-crossed Americans are suddenly forced to work together to survive a terrifying unexplained global event that threatens to destroy life as they know it.”
There’s already a clear tonal comparison being tossed around, with producers pointing to 10 Cloverfield Lane as a creative touchstone. That suggests a tight, pressure-cooker kind of thriller that leans heavily on performances and atmosphere rather than spectacle alone.
Gens is no stranger to high-stakes genre storytelling. He previously directed Netflix’s shark thriller Under Paris and has worked on shows like Lupin and Gangs of London. With Homewrecker, he’s stepping into a more intimate but still intense narrative space.
Production is scheduled to begin in France this July.
Williams is coming off the success of Regretting You, while Randolph continues her rise after Landman and Scream 7. Both actors seem fully locked in on what Homewrecker is trying to deliver.
Williams shared her excitement, saying: “I found the script riveting, and it had a depth that continued shifting and revealing itself as I read. Then, knowing Xavier’s work, I was very eager to work with this talented filmmaker. I’m grateful to be part of this team and this project.”
Randolph echoed that enthusiasm: “I was immediately drawn to how Homewrecker blends psychological tension with something deeply character-driven. It has a kind of intensity and unpredictability that makes it such a compelling project. I’m so excited to be part of this with Allison and Xavier.”
Gens also weighed in on what drew him to the story: “I’m thrilled to explore American mythology from a uniquely intimate point of view. I can’t wait to share the set with Allison Williams and Michelle Randolph and push the boundaries of humanity further than I’ve ever gone before.”
Between its cast, creative team, and a premise that leans into both emotional drama and large-scale mystery, Homewrecker could end up being a solid sci-fi movie.
