Amanda Seyfried Joins Bill Lawrence's Series Adaptation of SKINNY DIP at Amazon
Academy Award nominated actress Amanda Seyfried (Mean Girls, Les Misérables) has signed on to star in Amazon Prime’s series adaptation of the Carl Hiaasen novel Skinny Dip.
Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis are onboard as writers and executive producers, with Bill Lawrence (Scrubs, Ted Lasso, Shrinking) also still executive producing via Doozer. Seyfried will executive produce in addition to starring, with Jeff Ingold and Liza Katzer of Doozer executive producing along with Hiaasen.
The logline for the one-hour dramedy states that it tells the story of Joey Perrone (Seyfried), “whose second anniversary didn’t go quite as planned.
She expected earrings, but instead, her husband Chaz had, shall we say, alternate plans. After unexpectedly finding herself on the other side of those plans, she vows to get revenge. Teaming up with a disgraced ex-cop, Joey sets out to make Chaz pay.”
Seyfried starred in the limited series Long Bright River this year, as well as the film The Testament of Ann Lee. She will next be seen in the psychological thriller The Housemaid, in theatres on December 19th.
