Amazing Concept Art of the New Ships in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2
Light spoilers ahead if you haven't Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 yet.
I finally saw Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and it was great. I cried, left the theater, and then cried again. If you haven't seen it, I won't spoil anything huge for you. I just cried... just cuz. There were lots of reasons to cry. Like the loss of a vital member of the team... Peter Quill's ship, The Milano.
The Milano crashes in the movie and although they are working on fixing it, they ultimately leave it on another planet and end up with a different ship. But now you can see all the awesome designs of that new ship as well as some of the other ships that are in the movie.
The ships designs, which were shared by senior conceptual designer George Hull, include the ship the Guardians end up flying in the end, the Quadrant, as well as the ship the Quadrant split itself from, the huge Ravager ship, the Eclector, and lastly the laser drill ship.
They all look so cool with their sci-fi structure and their grounded gritty look. I especially like the way the laser drill ship was utilized in the film, with the little laser balls that rolled around the ship to focus its power. As for the Quadrant, it may take some getting used to. I love the Milano so much, from its teal and orange color scheme to its wing-like shape. I do like that their new ship is a bit bigger and probably a bit more accommodating for a team of 5 or 6. I especially like the new interior.
Check out some of the images below, which come from the art book Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2: The Art of the Movie, which will contain so much more.
