"Amazing Sequence" Teased on How Thor Ends Up Trapped on Sakaar in THOR: RAGNAROK
As we all know, Thor: Ragnarok uses elements of Planet Hulk to tell a story of Thor and Hulk teaming up to fight Hela and prevent Ragnarok from destroying Asgard. Early on in the film, Thor ends up on the planet of Sakaar when he comes face to face with The Hulk in the gladiator arena to battle it out.
Even though we know Thor ends up on Sakaar, we still have no idea how he exactly gets there. A lot of fans just assume that he was banished there by Hela, but according to executive producer Brad Winderbaum there's so much more to it and it involves an "amazing sequence." If you don't want to know the teasing details then don't read ahead.
Winderbaum begins by saying:
"Basically there's any number of ways that one can end up on Sakaar. And a lot of times if someone - the idea is that if someone is using a wormhole to travel from Point A to Point B in the cosmos but there's some sort of failure and you go off the route, you're going to get spat out [on Sakaar]."
Sounds like Thor popping up on Sakaar is kind of a cosmic coincidence. But, the lead up to his journey begins with something going terribly wrong at Asgard's Rainbow Bridge. Winderbaum continues:
"[And with the] Bifröst being essentially a teleportation wormhole mechanism, without going into great detail, something goes horribly wrong in an amazing sequence, and [Thor] gets spat out. And one of the first people he meets there is this bounty hunter. A nameless bounty hunter named SR-142, who is Valkyrie."
I can't wait to see what this "amazing sequence" entails! I'm sure that there are going to be a lot of cool little Easter eggs to see while Thor is on Sakaar as it could include anything from within the Marvel universe including some fun obscure characters.
