Amazon Developing Alex Cross TV Series Based on James Patterson Novels

Amazon is developing a new series based on the character Alex Cross from the books by James Patterson. Variety reports that the series will follow the character who “throughout the book series… works as a detective, FBI agent, and psychologist in Washington D.C. There is no word yet on which specific novel or novels the show would focus on, but there are currently 29 books total from which to choose.”

This isn’t a signed deal yet, but is looking promising. If it should go forward, it would be the first time the character is portrayed in a TV series. Morgan Freeman previously played the role of Cross in the films Kiss the Girls (1997) and Along Came a Spider (2001). Alex Cross was later played by Tyler Perry in the film Alex Cross in 2012.

This would be a fascinating series with a lot of stories to tell. Hopefully they get the ball rolling and we get to see a great series made. Would you like to watch a show about Alex Cross?
