Amazon Developing Mockumentary Series RODEO QUEENS Starring Dakota Johnson
Amazon has won the rights in a bidding war to develop a mockumentary series called Rodeo Queens that has hired on Dakota Johnson to star. Variety reports that the series will follow “an ensemble of Rodeo Queen hopefuls as they compete for the coveted crown.” The series is expected to get a full-series order, and will start a writers room soon.
Along with starring, Johnson is also set to executive produce, with series creator Christy Hall showrunning and executive-producing as well. Hall created the recently released Netflix series I Am Not Okay With This, and is penning the screenplay for the upcoming Stephen King adaptation, The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon, that is in development. Carrie Brownstein (Portlandia, Shrill) is directing and executive-producing as well.
This sounds like it could be a fun series that will hopefully provide a few laughs. Do you think you’ll check it out?
