Amazon Has Placed a Series Order for JACK REACHER

Amazon has placed a series order for Jack Reacher, based on the character from the bestselling books by Lee Child. The books were made into two feature length movies starring Tom Cruise as the titular character. But from the beginning, fans of the books were puzzled at the casting of Cruise. He’s a great actor, and can hold his own in any action sequence, but he is a small guy. Even in the best of shape, he’s not the beast that is described in the novels. Jack Reacher is described in the books as a 6’5”, 250 pound man with “a six-pack like a cobbled city street, a chest like a suit of NFL armor, biceps like basketballs, and subcutaneous fat like a kleenex tissue.”

So, yeah. Hopefully this time around, the fans get the Jack Reacher they’ve been hoping for all along. Someone like Dwayne Johnson, Dave Bautista, or even Jason Momoa would be a closer match. Amazon has been developing the series for the past year and is excited to get it off the ground, with Nick Santora writing, executive producing, and showrunning, with the help of author Lee Child. Here’s what Santora said about the project:

“Lee Child has created an incredible character and world; it will be the goal of every writer, producer, actor, executive and crew member to capture the essence of Mr. Child’s books – and luckily Lee has been there, and will continue to be there, to help guide us along the way in this series. He is the pulse of Reacher,” said Santora.

I am excited to watch this series! We don’t have a date yet, but we will let you know as soon as they release the cast and date to start watching. Are you excited for it?
