Amazon Is in Negotiations to Develop a GOD OF WAR Series Based on the Ancient Mythology Game

Amazon Prime Video is in negotiations to produce a live-action TV series based on the popular ancient mythology-themed game God of War.

According to the report, the series is being developed by The Expanse creators and executive producers Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby and The Wheel of Time executive producer and showrunner Rafe Judkins. That’s quite a creative team of talented individuals.

Sony Pictures Television and PlayStation Productions will also be involved with the project, which is a huge deal for Amazon. They are really pushing hard for big franchises like this.

The first God of War game that was released focuses on an ex-Spartan warrior named Kratos and his perilous journey to exact revenge on the Ares, the Greek God of War, after killing his loved ones under the deity’s influence. After becoming the ruthless God of War himself, Kratos finds himself constantly looking for a chance to change his fate.

This is a badass game franchise that has the potential to be an incredible series. As of right now, there’s an eighth God of War game in the works titled God of War: Ragnorok, and that’s set to be released later this year.

Amazon is pumping out some great content, especially with the fantasy stuff with The Wheel of Time, and The Lord of the Rings also looks incredible. So, I think with this creative team, they will do some awesome things with God of War.
