Amazon Studios Is Looking Into Acquiring Landmark Theaters
Amazon got into the movie production business just a few years ago, and now it's looking to expand its reach in the industry with a very interesting acquisition. The company is thinking of acquiring the Mark Cuban backed Landmark Cinemas after the Department of Justice announced it would be re-evaluating laws that prevent film studios from acquiring brick and mortal theater chains.
As of now, nothing official has been announced, but one has to wonder how this will affect the film industry going forward if major companies start running theater chains. Are we about to see the next major shift in cinema?!
