Amazon MGM Studios is developing author Elise Kova‘s #1 New York Times bestselling fantasy novel Dragon Cursed for feature development.

Published by Entangled Publishing this past May, the story is set in a fantastical world amidst the last human stronghold against dragons, in which every teenager must survive brutal trials meant to separate dragon hunters from the dragon cursed.

When a young woman enters the trials hiding a deadly secret, her fate rests in the hands of the dangerous enforcer assigned to watch her.

As the launch title for Entangled’s new YA label Mayhem, the book was an instant bestseller, hitting #1 on the New York Times bestseller list in its opening week.

Liz Pelletier and Sherryl Clark will produce the feature take for Premeditated, under the company’s Amazon MGM deal, with Premeditated DoD Cayla Tyne overseeing development of the project.

There’s not yet a writer or director attached to the project.
