Amazon Orders Modern Remake of YA Horror I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER to Series

Amazon has given a series order on a modern remake of the popular 90s YA slasher movie I Know What You Did Last Summer. The series will give the story an updated look, with Preacher writer Sara Goodman on board, based on the 1973 novel by Lois Duncan. Though the story will take place in modern-day, it will still follow the same formula laid out in the film, where “in a town full of secrets, a group of teenagers are stalked by a mysterious killer a year after a fatal accident on their graduation night.”

Albert Cheng, COO and CO-Head of Television, Amazon Studios said of the project:

“The best horror franchises always have another scare coming, and this I Know What You Did Last Summer series from Sara Goodman is a perfectly twisted update to the iconic slasher movie. Any way you slice it, our global Prime Video customers will love this modern take on the fan favorite film.”
