Clip From Nick Frost and Simon Pegg's TRUTH SEEKERS - 'Immersive Horror Experience'
Amazon’s highly anticipated upcoming series Truth Seekers held a panel at New York Comic-Con that is taking place this weekend, and they debuted a new clip from the series for fans to enjoy. The show was created by best friends and collaborators Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, who we know and love from Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and The World’s End.
The pair wrote the series alongside Nat Saunders and James Serafinowicz, with Jim Field Smith (She’s Out of My League) directing. Frost and Pegg star alongside Emmy D’Arcy (Misbehavious), Samson Kayo (Timewasters), Malcolm McDowell (Mozart in the Jungle, Bombshell), and Susan Wokoma (Enola Holmes).
Here’s the show’s synopsis:
Truth Seekers is a supernatural comedy-drama series about a team of part-time paranormal investigators who team up to uncover and film ghost sightings across the UK, sharing their adventures on an online channel for all to see. However, as they stake out haunted churches, underground bunkers, and abandoned hospitals with their array of homemade ghost-detecting gizmos, their supernatural experiences grow more frequent, more terrifying and even deadly, as they begin to uncover a conspiracy that could bring about Armageddon for the entire human race.
Set in a mysterious world filled with dread and just-out-of-sight monsters, Truth Seekers mixes the very funny with the very scary in an exciting take on genre storytelling and stars Nick Frost as Gus, Simon Pegg as Dave, Samson Kayo as Elton, Malcolm McDowell as Richard, Emma D’Arcy as Astrid, and Susan Wokoma as Helen.
In the panel, we get to hear about Frost’s feelings about all things supernatural, even an experience he shared in which shared a ghostly woman who haunted an apartment he shared with Simon Pegg kissed him on the forehead when he was laying in bed one night. He said he believed Simon Pegg was messing with him, but upon investigating, he found out Pegg wasn’t even there.
