AMC Cancels ORPHAN BLACK: ECHOES After Only One Season

AMC Networks has canceled its sci-fi series Orphan Black: Echoes starring Krysten Ritter after its 10-episode season one run.

Echoes just didn’t quite capture the spark that the original Orphan Balck series had and it was met with mixed reviews from critics. I only watched the first episode and it didn’t quite grab me.

The series is set in 2052, “37 years since the end of the original series, Orphan Black: Echoes takes a deep dive into the exploration of the scientific manipulation of human existence.

“It follows the life of the now adult Kira (Keeley Hawes) and her wife (Rya Kihlstedt) as they try to help an amnesiac woman, Lucy (Ritter).”

The series was created by Anna Fishko and it also stars Amanda Fix, Avan Jogia, and James Hiroyuki Liao.

If you watched Orphan Black: Echoes, what did you think? Did you like the series? Are you surprised it was canceled?
