America Vs. Japan: Giant Robot Showdown Happening Later This Year!
America and Japan are about to have a showdown in the coolest way possible: Giant Robots! Ever since I was a kid, I’ve loved robots. I loved shows like Gundam Wing and Power Rangers that featured them, and I almost emphasized in robotics in college.
That’s why I got excited when I first heard in 2015 that America challenged Japan to a giant robot battle. The best part: Japan accepted! The American team, MegaBots, Inc, has announced that they will be fighting the Japanese team, Suidobashi, in August of 2017! That is only 4 months away. The exact date has not been revealed, but I'll be watching for it.
Who do you guys think will be victorious? MegaBots has been putting in a lot of hard work after raising over $500,000 on Kickstarter, but as Suidobashi said, “Giant robots are Japanese culture.” You can watch MegaBots reveal the date in the video below.
