AMERICAN HORROR STORY Season 9 Title Revealed in Teaser Inspired by '80s Slasher Movies
American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy shared a promo video today for the ninth season of his horror anthology series. The promo reveals the title of the new season will be American Horror Story: 1984, and as you’ll see in the teaser, it was clearly inspired by ‘80s slasher movies.
The promo features a young woman running through the woods as she is being chased by a mysterious killer. She eventually runs into a cabin and slams the door only to have a knife burst through the door next to her head. It has a very Friday The 13th kinda vibe to it.
There are still no details on the story for Season 9, but I do like the direction that it looks like it’s going. As a fan of ‘80s slasher horror movies, I’m looking forward to seeing what this next season entails, but it’s safe to assume that it will take place in 1984.
The ‘80s are in right now. This whole radcore movement really exploded with Stranger Things; after that we were seeing a lot more 80s-set entertainment.
What are your thoughts on the direction that American Horror Story is taking with Season 9?
