America's Finest Hero Has Returned in Funny Red-Band Trailer For MACGRUBER
Will Forte is making his big comeback as America’s finest hero MacGruber in a new series that is coming to Peacock, and today a funny red-band trailer has been released for all of you to watch and enjoy! If you were a fan of the SNL skits and 2010 movie, you’re gonna love what this series has to offer!
MacGruber is an over-the-top parody of MacGyver, and the story for the series picks up more than ten years after the events of the movie. He has been in prison during that time but is released to help the government hunt down a dangerous enemy. The synopsis reads:
After rotting in prison for over a decade, America's ultimate hero and uber patriot MacGruber is finally released. His mission: to take down a mysterious villain from his past – Brigadier Commander Enos Queeth. With the entire world in the crosshairs, MacGruber (Will Forte), Vicki and Piper must race against time to defeat the forces of evil. Only to find that evil... may be lurking within.
Forte is also returning to write and executive produce the show and the cast for the series also includes Kristen Wiig, Ryan Phillippe, Sam Elliott, Billy Zane, and Laurence Fishburne.
The series is directed and co-written by Jorma Taccone, who helmed and co-wrote of the film as well. He’s also an executive producer. Other executive producers include Lorne Michaels, John Solomon, John Goldwyn, Andrew Singer, and Erin David.
MacGruber will start streaming December 16th on Peacock.
