Amy Adams Joins Cast of STAR WARS: STARFIGHTER Alongside Five More New Additions

Lucasfilm’s upcoming film Star Wars: Starfighter just leveled up its cast in a big way. With production officially underway in the UK, director Shawn Levy has brought six fresh faces into the galaxy far, far away, including Amy Adams, Aaron Pierre, Flynn Gray, Simon Bird, Jamael Westman, and Daniel Ings.

They’ll be joining an already exciting cast that features Ryan Gosling, Mia Goth, and Matt Smith, all of whom were previously announced. The film is being helmed by Levy, who’s hot off directing Deadpool & Wolverine, and it’s shaping up to be a major new chapter in the franchise.

“I feel a profound sense of excitement and honor as we begin production on Star Wars: Starfighter,” Levy said in an official statement.

“From the day Kathy Kennedy called me up, inviting me to develop an original adventure in this incredible Star Wars galaxy, this experience has been a dream come true, creatively and personally.

Star Wars shaped my sense of what story can do, how characters and cinematic moments can live with us forever. To join this storytelling galaxy with such brilliant collaborators onscreen and off, is the thrill of a lifetime.”

Star Wars: Starfighter is set after the events of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, and will introduce new heroes and conflicts to the saga. Lucasfilm has set the release date for May 28, 2027.

As for the new cast additions, Adams brings major star power to the project. She played Lois Lane in the DCEU and has delivered great performances in films like Enchanted, American Hustle, and Arrival. She was last seen in 2024’s Nightbitch, and is also set to star in the upcoming Cape Fear TV series.

Pierre is another exciting get, especially with his recent casting as John Stewart in DC Studios’ Lanterns series. He also voiced the iconic Mufasa in Mufasa: The Lion King, and appeared in 2024’s Rebel Ridge.

No character details have been revealed yet for these new additions. This new Star Wars film is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated projects in development and could mark a interesting new direction for the franchise.
