An Unused "Shy Pooper" COMMUNITY Storyline Was Used in RICK & MORTY Season 4
Rick & Morty and Community creator Dan Harmon has confirmed that an unused storyline from Community was used in the fourth season of Rick & Morty.
The story was originally supposed to follow Joel McHale’s Jeff in Community as he is struggling with his inability to use public bathrooms. During an interview with CinemaBlend, Harmon said:
"I can’t remember any ideas we always wanted to do but couldn’t crack. There was one concept that was always floating in the air which was the idea of doing an episode about Jeff Winger being a shy pooper. I ended up grafting that over to Rick and Morty."
In the Rick & Morty version of the story, Rick has a private planet that has been tailored to specifically be used for him to use the bathroom in complete isolation. When an alien intruder decides to use the toilet for himself, Rick finds himself trying to win back his toilet solitude and in the process, he makes a new friend.
