Andrew Garfield Says He'd Love to See Emma Stone Return to the Spider-Man Universe to Play Spider-Gwen

It has been over a decade since Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone shared the screen together as Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy in The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) and its sequel (2014).

While Garfield returned to reprise his role in the MCU’s Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021), along with Tobey Maguire’s Peter Parker and many of the villains from their universes, neither of these Spider-Man universe’s love interests appeared, and that was kind of a bummer.

While it was made clear that Stone’s Gwen Stacy did not make it after the accident at the end of their second film, we are in the multiverse, and anything is possible.

That’s why Andrew Garfield is still petitioning for Emma Stone to return, but this time, as Spider-Gwen. When asked by Hits Radio how perfect he thought Stone would be in the superhero role, Garfield said, "Yeah, I mean, why not?

Directed by Yorgos Lanthimos,” he added, referring to Stone's frequent collaborator with whom she’s made five films including The Favourite, Poor Things, and Bugonia. Garfield added, "Yeah, I think she could do anything. She's such an incredible actor."

I don’t know if we are getting Stone back in the Spider-Man universe, but she’s good at everything, so I wouldn’t argue with the casting.
