Andrew Scott Set to Play Tom Ripley in Showtime Series Based on THE TALENTED MR. RIPLEY

The lovely Andrew Scott, who we know from Sherlock and the recent award-wining series Fleabag, has been hired on to play Tom Ripley in the new Showtime series Ripley, based on the books by Patricia Highsmith, which were also the inspiration for the 1999 film The Talented Mr. Ripley.

The series will be directed by Steven Zaillian, known for his writing chops on Schindler’s List, Moneyball, and Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, as well as creating and directing The Night Of, an incredible HBO limited series.

It will be great to have a series based on this fascinating character, and Scott is the perfect choice to play him. He’s handsome and charming, and a great actor for the job. I’m excited to get back into the world created by Highsmith and follow Tom Ripley on a new journey. How about you?
