Andy Garcia Has Joined the Cast of the Erin Brockovich-Inspired Series REBEL at ABC
Actor Andy Garcia (Untouchables, Ocean’s Eleven) has joined the cast of the series Rebel at ABC. Garcia will star opposite Katey Sagal (Married With Children, Sons of Anarchy) in the series that is inspired by activist Erin Brockovich, whose story was told in the 2000 film named after her. Brockovich will serve as executive producer, alongside executive producer/showrunner Krista Vernoff (Grey’s Anatomy).

Rebel centers on Annie “Rebel” Bello (Sagal), a blue-collar legal advocate without a law degree. A funny, messy, brilliant and fearless woman, she cares desperately about the causes she fights for and the people she loves.
Garcia will play Julian Cruz, the lawyer for whom Rebel consults, though sometimes it seems like it’s the other way around. Cruz is a powerful attorney — sexy, smart, down-to-earth and strong in all the best ways. He was widowed two years ago and still is reeling from the loss. Frequently irritated by his most famous employee, Cruz is weary of being guilt-tripped by Rebel into taking on another demanding case.
The series will also feature John Corbett (My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Sex and the City), James Lesure (Las Vegas, Good Girls), Tamala Jones (Castle, What Men Want), and Ariela Barer (Atypical, Runaways). This marks the first regular TV series for Garcia, who is a fantastic actor. I love this cast and storyline, so I am excited to check this series out. Will you be checking it out?
