Andy Samberg (Saturday Night Live, Brooklyn Nine-Nine) is just coming off the success of his hit Netflix movie,Palm Springs, which is getting Oscar buzz around town. It is now confirmed that he is teaming back up with the writer of the film, Andy Siara, as well as producers Noah Hawley and Ben Stiller for an untitled sci-fi dramedy that has landed at Apple Studios after a competitive bid for the idea, which is being kept under-wraps.

The film will be based on an original idea by BoJack Horseman creator and author Raphael Bob-Waksberg. Samberg is set to produce as well as star, and Hawley will produce through his 26 Keys banner with 26 Keys’ Dan Seligmann. Stiller and Nicky Weinstock will produce via Red Hour with the company’s Jackie Cohn executive producing. Bob-Waksberg will also act as a producer.

Siara will pen the script and will also be an executive producer on the project. The creative team will look to attach a director in the coming months. This isn’t a whole of of info to get us pumped, but I love the team that has assembled for the project. We will keep you posted as things develop.
